Ice Skating Rink is Open!

An Ice Skating rink in downtown Estes is open! It is located behind Dairy Queen and across from Bond Park. The pricing is as follows:

Ice Skating $2.00

Skate Rental $2.00

The standard hours of operation are Saturdays 11:00 am – 7:00 pm and Sundays 11:00 am -4:00 pm. Depending on the weather, the rink will be in operation through Mid-March of 2013.

Elk Invasion

The elk have traveled back down from the Rocky Mountain National Park. You can often hear their antlers clattering throughout the mountains. You might even see one catching a quick nap in the grass by your room! We have a couple of regulars that munch around our property. Earlier this week, “Lefty” was seen eating out of a birdfeeder. The picture this week shows “Spike” thinking that one of our wind spinners is a birdfeeder.

Red Girl is a well known name here at Wildwood Inn. She has been seen asking guests for food, rolling her children around in the snow, and peeking her head out of her den. Her chosen mate is a black arctic fox who goes by the name of Licorice. He seems to be a bit shyer than Red Girl, but has considerably warmed up to the staff and guests since he moved in.

On November 23rd Estes Park will be celebrating the holiday season with activities for the whole family.

Activities begin at noon with hay rides, pony rides and even a visit from Santa. Whimsical characters and festive carolers will entertain throughout the downtown area.

At dusk Catch the Glow parade will fill the main street with storybook figures, angles, snowmen, thousands of twinkling lights, marching bands, entertainers and much more.
