4th of July in the Rockies

Come and experience one of Colorado’s most brilliant firework display’s. The boom from the fireworks echo off the surrounding mountains creating a very unusual experience, one that will not be soon forgot. Due to the dry conditions the town’s firework display has been postponed, so keep posted.  There are many things to do in the Estes Park area over the 4th of July, like attending the “Coolest Car Show in Colorado” with vintage and classic eras through electric including street rods and muscle cars. You can’t go home without taking in a hike to your favorite water fall or mountain lake, or go on a horseback ride which will take you to the back country to experience nature first hand.

          

Festivals in Estes Park

There are many festivals through out the year in Estes Park, but the Scandinavian Midsummer Festival brings Music, Dance, Food, Craft vendors, Viking reenactment all in the beautiful Bond Park in down town Estes Park.  There is so much to do and see you will want to plan to spend the entire weekend just to get it all in. Biking in Estes Park Colorado

Riding a bike is an activity most anyone can enjoy. You have many choices from the bike path around Lake Estes or going by the Fall River or the back side of the 18 hold golf course. These are all paved and very popular for visitors 2 and 4 legged. If you are riding the road watch for traffic, wear bright clothing and always have a phone for emergencies.  Ride the Rockies Bike Tour will be in Estes Park on June 14th so come out and enjoy the live music, entertainment and great food. This great night of fun is open to the public so plan on attending.

Black Bear around Rocky Mountain National Park

When one mentions the name “Black Bear” this can be misleading because the can range in color from blond to black. The personality of black bears are generally shy; however always use caution in brushy areas or near a stream. Bears usually walk clumsily but, when alarmed or angry, they can move very quickly. Bears eat most anything so please do not leave trash out as it is illegal to feed the bears, even  accidentally, you can be fined.
